In plain words
We must gather more and more of that unity. We must become one with purity. I and you are we. We and we are one. That is unity. Only then is there Ānanda. That boy said it. BABA: B-being, that is Sat. A-Awareness: Cit. B-bliss. When these three come together, it is the Ātma. Being Awareness Bliss Atma, they call it. He spoke about A, B, C. Swami said, 'Always be careful.' Not only that. It has another meaning. Avoid bad company. That is ABC. Be careful and avoid bad company. If you develop these two, you will reach as high a state as you like. Why say 'Avoid bad company'? As the company is, so we turn out to be. Tell me your company I shall tell you what you are. When you join good company, you become good. When you join bad company, you become bad. There is no need to say it. Our face itself keeps showing our good dispositions. However much you hide them, the faults within you show up in your face. The face is like a gramophone plate. Do you see! What is on a gramophone plate is heard but not seen. What is in a man's mind is not heard, but it is seen. Because your face reveals you. Our face is like a guide post. Face is the index of the mind. The whole of our face keeps revealing according to the …s. A Tape record is heard, not seen. Our face is seen but not heard. When we see someone, we ask, 'You look out of sorts; why are you so sad?' Need … be told? No: the face itself tells it. 'Oh, today you are very happy!' they say. That is, the face itself tells of the joy. So for each and every thing, the reflection of the inner being, the reflection reaction of what is within, shows in our face. Every man, too, thinks, 'Nobody has seen, nobody has seen.' That is a great mistake. Do you know about the ostrich! Its beak is very long. It is very tall. A very big body. But on seeing the hunter, it roams in the desert and buries its beak in the sand. Then it sees no one. The ostrich thinks, 'No one has seen me.' 'I can see no one, so no one has seen me.' But this huge body is plain to the hunter. He kills it at one stroke.
In the same way, children today think they are doing wrong in a place where no one sees. Since no one comes before their eyes, he thinks, 'Nobody has seen me!' But there is One who sees everything.
