In plain words
Though the humanness of those days was so innocent, the students of those days lived with hearts that were pure and nothing else. Unlike the students of today, they never took to criticism, or any other such actions, thoughts, examinations or researches at all. In the students of today cleverness keeps growing, but character keeps dwindling. This cleverness was little in those days. That very day the people of the Andhra land have come to Prasanthi Nilayam today in this way and are keeping it sacredly, in remembrance.
Embodiments of Prema, take this as a matter of pride. You must believe this with the eye of truth. What has been achieved in this Prasanthi Nilayam within fifty years would not happen even in five hundred years. Within fifty years such great changes have happened nowhere. They have come about through this one hand. We began a big university. We brought a planetarium. An air Field has come to this small village. The whole world has come to know Prasanthi Nilayam. People of every country are coming into Prasanthi Nilayam. Prasanthi Nilayam is a mini world. You will see still more in the days to come. People of every country are coming here for the twenty-third of November. Is it the nature of people to come when called? No publicity of any kind, no invitations of any kind, are being sent to anyone. They are telling those who want to come, 'Don't, don't.' Such attraction belongs to none but the one God. The fragrance of a flower spreads everywhere. Does the flower call the bee? The bees themselves come running and enter this flower. Because there is sweet nectar in this flower the bees come and settle on it; otherwise, would they settle even if you begged them? Argentina, so far away. Argentina lies at the very farthest end of the world. In this Argentina there are bhajans inside every home: 'Māyamā'. There all the military officers are doing nagarasaṅkīrtana. Six months ago the officers all took a vow. Many of you will have seen it in the paper too. 'The government must go. A Sathya Sai government must come': that was their vow. Saying the military officers had gone mad, they took them away and put them in a mental hospital. The military officers, once in the hospital, turned the nurses and patients there into devotees. This is not something that happens so easily. It must spring from the heart.
Embodiments of Prema! If they carry this flame from house to house and hold festivals, this is not something that comes merely from outside; it wells up from within.
