Passage 1

In plain words

“If you wish to see, you must see the ‘Paramātma’ alone; to look at other sights is folly. If you wish to walk, you must walk with ‘God’; to walk on other paths is folly. If you wish to speak, you must speak ‘Satya’ alone; to speak other words is folly. If you wish to sing, you must sing the ‘tattvas’ alone; to sing other songs is folly. O members of this gathering, gentle and rich in good qualities! If you long to hear, you must hear ‘the bhajan of Hari’. If you long to see, you must see ‘God’. If you long to reach, you must reach ‘God’; nowhere else in the world is there a ‘Supreme Principle’ beyond this.”

“Sweeter and more delicious than sugar, than honey, than butter is the name of ‘Śrī Rāma’ alone. However many times you utter that name to your heart's content, it gives more and more contentment. More than that, as you go on uttering that name with your lips, it gives a rich sweetness; that name feels like ‘nectar itself’. Remember that name every single day with all your heart, and cross over.”

Embodiments of Prema!

All the things in this world are bound to change. One day every living being must perish. But an ideal, a sacred aim, goes on shining, alive, in human hearts, however much time goes by. To attain an ideal, something sacred, you have to face many hardships, losses, sorrows, censures and harsh words. Only because such aims and ideals pressed on, pushing through and withstanding many kinds of hardship and loss, do they still shine brilliantly in the world today, in the hearts of the people. In this world, though the ages change, though worlds shift, though lives perish, ‘aims and ideals’ go on shining, alive.
