In plain words
Less luggage more comfort. We must reduce these burdens little by little. Money is like the shoes we wear on our feet. If the shoes fit the feet correctly, we walk well. If they are a little loose, we cannot walk. If they are tight, we cannot walk either. So too much money or too little gives man some pain. We need only the money that is necessary. Only then do we gain peace of mind. Peace of mind is within us, not outside.
Study as much as you like: what is the use?
However much you study, what is the fruit? Who can escape what is written on his brow? If evil thoughts enter one's head, the intellect withers and dries to pith.
That is the education of today. Education does not mean merely stuffing into the head all the things that happen in the world. Lokās samastā sukhino bhavantu. Only when all are well does your own well-being come within it. The educated today keep in view only their own person and their own family. They give no thought at all to society. If there were no society, where would we be? Our whole life is bound up in society. Only when society is well are we well. But the educated make no effort to recognise this truth. Man's journey: we must journey through all three, the individual, the family and society. From I to We. All the time it is I, I. What is this I? There are two kinds of I. One letter I is one. Three letter EYE is one. Three letter eye is body. One letter I is self, that is soul. You are not the body. Body is an instrument for you. mind is an instrument for you. senses are an instrument. Taking these as aids, you must make this one-letter I your foundation. All the new students have entered into this. Students! From daybreak until you lie down at night it is I, I. This is my house. This is my car, my pant, my shirt. Who are you? But who am I. Students who put this question to themselves are nowhere to be seen.
