In plain words
Then there was a great hero who did bad deeds. A man of great learning. In the whole world there was no one more learned than he. He had learnt the 64 arts. He built a great city that put heaven itself out of mind. There was no one at all who could stand against him. So mighty was he. Who? Rāvaṇāsura. See! Rāvaṇāsura: a great one. Because he carried off another man's wife, what fate befell him in the end? He went on doing bad deeds. Wherever he saw women, he carried them all off. He gathered so many of them there, alas! Where will the fruit of that sin go? In the end God Himself punished him. What use is so much strength? What use is so much learning? What use are so many kin and friends? What use is so much money, gold, goods and vehicles? When the work we do is not right, it turns against us. Does anyone take the name of one who did such bad deeds, the name Rāvaṇāsura? There are men called Rāmabrahmam, but there is no Rāvaṇabrahmam.
What I ask is that you keep the five senses under control!
The one who speaks bad speech, the one who thinks bad thoughts, the one who says bad words. The one with an evil eye, the one who does bad deeds: these, society in this world will not accept. So keep these five senses a little under control. That is what I ask! Only when you are like this will the name of our Institute and the name of our children grow well. The whole country will praise you. If you are good, our Institute will get a good name. Keep that in mind! Whatever Swami says is for your good, not for Me. Nothing comes to Me from you. The whole world is in My hand. The whole world comes. But I ask for nothing, and for no one. Win a good name! Since you have come here, keep good dispositions! Become worthy of God's grace! If you have that one thing, you can achieve everything. If, instead of being worthy of grace, you fall under wrath, what use is that? Tell Me.
