In plain words
The life story of God is itself the life story of the gopīs
Our University's Vice-Chancellor spoke of ‘total Śaraṇāgati’. Śaraṇāgati is nothing but feeling oneness. There must be no feeling of ‘You are separate, I am separate’. ‘If You are not, I am not’: this is the inner meaning of the song the gopīs sang:
A life with no shade to rest in, I bear it for Your sake; it will not stay still, my mind, when Your smiles are far away! Even in a dream, come before my eyes, Kṛṣṇa! I cannot live apart from You! Come before my eyes, Kṛṣṇa! (Kanu …)
Wherever You are, You are the very pupil of our eye. As the pupil of our eye You behold the world. And as for whether we shall see Your Prema:
to my words You are the pupil of my eye, to my heart a little child; apart from You, even half a minute, I cannot stay, Kṛṣṇa! Won't You come before my eyes!
If you reflect well, all the wishes the gopīs asked for are pure and full of many inner meanings. You must not regard them as ladies suffering from hysteria. They are ‘history ladies’, not ‘hysteria ladies’. (Not women far gone in madness, but women whose lives fulfilled their purpose.) Whose life story is their life story? It is the life story of God Himself! His story (His tale). All the gopīs sang His story alone, without ceasing. Many of you are new children who have come and joined. Learn these things.
