Passage 10

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

The one you really are - that is consciousness. This is what in Islam they put as I am in the light, I am in the light. That is, I am dependent on another. I am caught inside. That is, I am in the light. After practising for some time: No-No. The light is in me. The light is in me, they said. At last they said, I am the light. I am in the light - conscious. The light is in me - conscience. I am the light - consciousness. The same idea came in the Christian religion too. At first Jesus said, I am the messenger of God. This is conscious. What does messenger mean? The Master is one, the messenger is another. The Master and the messenger have no relation at all; but after doing sādhana for some time, He said, I am the son of God. That is, a relation with the master was formed. A Father and son relation was formed. This is The one others think you are. Next, He said, I and My father are one. This is consciousness. Do you see! When these came about, the state of the Holy ghost was reached. That is what in our Vedāntic language they called the turīyāvasthā. Unable to recognise its inner meaning, Hindus, Muslims, Christians, Buddhists, Zoroastrians and the rest have grown such feelings of difference and keep fighting one another.

The paths differ; the goal is one!

In no religion has difference been taught. All religions are good! All of them teach the one Satya! The paths are different, the goal is one! Only those with broad hearts can understand this Satya, to some extent. Those with narrow feelings set about quarrelling with one another.
