In plain words

She opened the door. She could not believe it! ‘What is this? Bābā! I learned only yesterday that You had passed away; how is it You have come in this cold? To come here from Shirdi takes at least three days, does it not!’ she exclaimed in wonder. Then Bābā: ‘Beṭī! Where am I? Wherever you look, I am there, am I not! All this time you have been worshipping Me, seeing Me as Kṛṣṇa! Is this how you know Me? I am cold; first give Me a cup of chāy,’ He said. At once she went inside, made chāy and brought it in a cup. He drank the chāy. He sat down. Again He said, ‘I am getting hungry.’ ‘Kṛṣṇā! Coming all this way, everything in My stomach has been digested,’ He said. She went inside and brought chapātīs and brinjal curry and served Him. Bābā loved brinjal! That day, bless her, for some reason she too had cooked brinjal for herself. She brought that. He ate. When she brought water, He washed His hands. She brought a towel too. He wiped them well. ‘The work I came for is done. Now I will be off,’ He said. In those days no one was in the habit of answering Bābā back. If anyone said ‘This is not so,’ it was a beating! He would not bear it in the least. So she could say nothing. ‘Very well, Swami!’ she said. With ‘Here! Take this garland!’ He gave her a garland of jasmine. He was walking away along the road. She watched Bābā for a long way. There in Simla the road rises and falls every hundred feet. Some labourers were working, at that time. He went there. He fell into a ravine. All the labourers there cried out, ‘A sannyāsī came, fell into the ravine and died.’ But no body was found. Bābā had vanished. In this way Mātājī Kṛṣṇapriya too had certain experiences. Bābā left the body, but before He went He said, ‘I am everywhere,’ and went. ‘Come and see Me in 1926,’ He said. Where was she to see Him? When was she to see Him? Where was she to go? All of these were questions left open!
