In plain words
If you contemplate God, the devil runs away. So contemplate God. Feel that you yourself are God. Hold fast to Bhakti and faith. Only then will you become a being whose life has meaning. The mind forever wandering this way and that, whenever you look: this is not man's nature. This is monkey mind. What kind of monkey? Mad monkey. The body is like a water bubble, mind is like a mad monkey; don’t follow the body, don’t follow the mind, follow the conscience. That is your heart. Make it pure! Living a worldly life, how is it possible to attain a divinity beyond the world? One is called dharmibhūtajñāna, the second dharmabhūtajñāna. Dharmibhūtajñāna is the form. Dharmabhūtajñāna is the name. Between these two, form and name, there is no difference of any kind. We must recognise today this principle in which there is no difference. What is it? It is the heart. The body has form. The principle of Jñāna that shines in all beings is its svarūpa. The heart of Jñāna is its svabhāva. It is the oneness of the two, svarūpa and svabhāva, that we must recognise today.
Every human being is an embodiment of God
Today, they said, is the new year and Mukkoṭi Ekādaśī. What! However many days go by, is it still Mukkoṭi Ekādaśī? Have four crore not come? Not only this: in the Vedas there are certain mantras. ‘Sahasraśīrṣā puruṣaḥ sahasrākṣa sahasrapāt’: God, they say, has a thousand heads, a thousand eyes, a thousand feet! In the Vedic age, human beings were limited to mere thousands. Now they have gone beyond crores. Because in the Vedic age they were limited to thousands, they said that every human being is an embodiment of God. Then there are the three crore gods. When they spoke of three crore gods, the population of Bhārata was only three crore. At that time, when the Vedas were recited and the Ekādaśī vratas observed, there were only three crore people. Today in Bhārata it has become a hundred crore. The population keeps growing, but in the mantra the number has not grown.
