Passage 1

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

Born in a human birth, raised in a human birth, they have become man-lions and forgotten the first truth; they fatten the impure body and take on the nature of demons, welcome wars, and hold peace conferences.

Embodiments of Prema!

Such is the influence of the present age. What must stand first in human society is humanness. However great a genius, however great a scientist, however learned a man may be, along with all that he must develop humanness too. Once humanness itself is lost, however many powers there may be, however much learning, all of it is simply worthless! On the day man develops this humanness, then society, the nation and the world will shine with humanness. This humanness can grow through spirituality alone. Only when a seed is set in the ground and watered does it come up as a plant and grow into a tree. So human values can grow only in the spiritual. So, if man is to develop humanness, he must first lay in the heart the manure called spirituality, give it the water called Prema, and so develop human values.

Wholeness and unity are vital in human society

Humanness blossoms only when we follow the ancient culture that shines as eternal truth in human life, developing it in keeping with the times. Wholeness and unity are vital in human society. Only when both of these, wholeness and unity, are present does humanness grow still further. Where are these human values to be had from? In what way are we to develop them?
