In plain words
Love is a flower. Lust is a thorn. Don’t touch the thorn, collect the flower. In concentration the five senses come in. Meditation is beyond senses. Between the two there is contemplation; only when contemplation is crossed does meditation start. They say it in science. When you want to go from below to above, there is a layer in between. After that, they say, is the ether. Crossing the ether is dangerous. You are small children; you may not know it. Fifteen years ago the Russians crossed it on the way to the moon. At the time of crossing that border they failed and died. Why? That atmosphere is different. Nothing made of the five elements is there. One who goes to the moon does not know, when he sets foot there, whether there is ground or not. There the body becomes light. In meditation some people lift the body up; why? These five elements are not in it. That is why it has become light. Scientists are not finding this out properly. Here is a lid: let go of it up there, and it comes falling down. Here is cotton: let go of it, and it goes up. Why? It is light. What is light goes upward. When it is heavy, it falls down. The more the weight of our desires grows, the lower we fall. When we reduce our desires, we become light and rise to a higher level.
As desires lessen, icchāśakti grows
Children, try it from tomorrow. We cannot say how many desires you have. Desires have no limit. The desires that come up moment by moment are a thing apart in daily life. You rise early and drink gruel. You drink coffee or tea and then take tiffin. Then lunch, and dinner at night. Besides all these, you take biscuits in between. So many desires are in you. You drink coffee five times a day. Some people smoke fifty cigarettes a day. If you want to see the result for yourself, reduce your desires. Today you drink coffee five times.
