In plain words

Something that does not change. sugar is in the hand. Put this sugar in pāyasam, put it in tea, put it in coffee; whatever you put it in, sweet is sweet. It never changes. Wherever it is, it stays unchanged. Whatever it joins, to that too it gives its own quality. This is Cit. This is water. If you pour it on a bank, it runs only downward. The nature of going downward. Cit is water. Sat is sugar; when the two are mixed, it is not water, it is not sugar: it becomes syrup. When that Sat and this Cit both join, there is Ānanda. So we must make these two one. The oneness of the jīvātma and the Paramātma: that is everlasting Ānanda. That is Saccidānanda. That is the Ānanda of non-duality. This they called "Brahman is one alone, without a second."

We need not make efforts of many kinds for the sake of divinity. Cultivate Prema. Love everyone. Believe that divinity is in everyone. But you must make your nature one with divinity. Students have a great deal to learn about the culture of Bhārata. The children of today have certain kinds of ideas. Swami keeps saying, Caste of humanity. "Whoever it may be, let us marry," they think. True, there is no caste. But what about culture? You are taking caste. You must take culture too. One culture does not mix with another. It does not mix with the rest. We should first of all enquire about culture. This they called tradition. When you follow tradition, well-being comes. You must surely follow tradition. Having studied all the learning of weapons, we think everything is equal. Tyāgarāja said it. "O God, from the ant to Brahmā, You alone are there," he said. But when an ant bites we strike it dead; when Brahmā comes we bow. Where has this equality gone? When He is in the ant and in Brahmā, should we not bow to the ant too! We do not. We have made the form our basis. It is not the form but Ānanda that matters. Is divinity in this one? Is divinity in that one? How small the ant is! When it bites, how great the pain! There is so much power in it. The ant is small; where did it get so much power from? When there is so much power in the ant itself, how much power must there be in man? All powers are in man. There is no human being without that power. But, unable to know it, he suffers distress.
