In plain words
A rich man built a great mansion. In that mansion they put a bedroom, drawing room, kitchen, dining hall, bathroom, everything. Because there are walls between, all these rooms have become separate rooms. Between the dining room and the drawing room there is a wall. Take this wall away and it is a hall. In the same way, take away all the walls and it becomes one single hall. That itself is the vast Ānanda that is the principle of the one Ātma. We create many differences among the vehicles. There is the master of a house. The son calls out, 'Father!' The wife comes and says, 'my dear husband'. The grand son comes and says, 'my dear grand father'. The daughter-in-law comes and says, 'my dear father in law'. Many people set up many relationships. But the master is one and the same. In the same way, these ties of kinship come from the bodily vehicles, but they do not belong to the principle of the Ātma. When we believe in the principle of the one Ātma, all these differences vanish. So we need no special sādhanas to give up this attachment to the body. The body is like a wall. It is only negative; within it the vibrations called positive join in and set it moving in many ways. It is like a clock. Wind it, and the hands turn. If you do not wind it, the hands do not turn. If the hands do not turn, we cannot tell the time. In the same way, only because the key called life is given to the clock called the body do the hands, the eyes and the nose each do their work.
The day before yesterday I spoke of bhūr bhuvas suvaḥ in the Gāyatrī mantra. Bhūḥ means what concerns the body: materialisation. That is negative. It is precisely one with matter. How did this body begin? iron, soap, lime, phosphorus, water, all came together and the body was formed. Bhūḥ means the coming together of substances. That itself is bhūloka. Bhuvaḥ is the power that drives bhūloka: life force vibration. Radiation, prajñānam, is the very thing that moves these two along the right path. The Veda pronounced this itself as 'prajñānaṃ brahma'. Because there is this radiation called prajñānam, the vibration called life and the body, materialisation, are at work. Bhūloka, bhuvarloka and suvarloka are not things somewhere that we cannot see. Everything is right within us. Dharma is right within us.
