In plain words
Otherwise, if He came bearing the conch, the discus and the mace, saying, ‘I am God,’ the devotee would run away. All these are unnatural. The natural needs only the natural. That is why God takes a human form and develops the divine principle that is in human form.
Coming does not mean climbing down from above. It is coming from the divine level to the human level. Merely because He comes to your level, the divine principle cannot be belittled in the least. When a mother wants to lift a child from the floor, she bends down and lifts the child in her arms. Merely because the mother bends, it does not mean she has given in to the child. In the same way, God keeps coming to uplift devotees and to look to the devotees' welfare. For the sake of uplifting devotees, He comes down to their level. Merely on account of this coming down, man falls into delusion. So this is what God is like? He moves about like an ordinary man. He greets people like an ordinary man. None of this is a level fit for God. He feels God should be something beyond. When you cannot understand even the principle that is in human form, how can you understand the principle that is beyond the human? Impossible. So either you must come up to that level, or God must come to your level. Only then can the close bond of kinship be recognised. Just because God moves about like an ordinary man, we must not fail to regard Him as God.
All are nothing but embodiments of God. The forms are different, but the Ātma principle is one and the same. First of all we must try to recognise a Satya principle such as this. The saṃskāra of many births is worked off in a single birth. Even if you show people what names and forms they bore in which birth, they cannot believe it. What is the reason? In that birth they were in that form. These people have forgotten that birth. Even knowing both, at times they cannot believe. A small example. You know Telugu and English. But while you speak Telugu, the English words do not come. Just because the English words do not come, does it mean you do not know English? Just now Anil Kumar is translating into English. To translate into English, you must surely know Telugu! He knows Telugu. But in translation he uses only English.
