In plain words
We must try to know even a little of such divinity.
Spiritual learning is easier than worldly learning
Students! Spirituality looks like hard work to you. Compared with the studies you learn, it is a thousand times easier. Spiritual learning is far easier than these worldly studies. It looks difficult because you cannot grasp it. How hard you toil when you learn your ABCD! But gradually, as you become educated and reach degree level, this ABCD looks a very small thing. Today the learning of Bhārata has taken shape as physical learning, and because this system of education lacks the right moral qualities, people are forgetting humanness altogether. We are forgetting the Dharma that is for our good.
Because MAs and BAs are what we love, the Vedas and śāstras have all grown poor.
What are these MAs and BAs? MAD, BAD! Is this what we are to learn? All these are leading us down the wrong road. We study these studies only to fill our stomachs; we do not study them to make the heart bear fruit, to fill the mind. The mind must be filled; the heart must bear fruit. Only then will Jñāna come with the heart's own fervour. As soon as they take their degrees, they register their names at the Employment Office. They waste all their time just going round and round it. This is not the work we should be doing. Studies are needed for physical life, for living in the world, but however long they go on, they do not bring the right qualities.
What we need first of all are the moral, the dhārmic and the spiritual
For everything, the human values Satya, Dharma, Śānti and Prema are essential
