In plain words
‘Sarvaṃ khalvidaṃ brahma’: the whole world is the very form of Brahman! No place without Brahman, no name without Brahman, is to be seen or heard by us in this world. The sights we see, the sounds we hear, the feelings we live through: all these are experiences of Brahman! What the eye sees, what the ears hear, what the mind senses, what delights the heart: all this is the principle of Brahman itself! If everyone rightly understood the truth ‘Mamātmā sarvabhūtāntarātma’, there would be no room for turmoil of this kind in the world. Wherever you look in the world there are troubles, upheavals, quarrels, and horrors besides. There is no telling who is a man and who a demon. People cannot even tell who is good and who is a beast. Man, who should rise from animality to humanity, and from humanity on to divinity, is merely turning back in reverse, from humanity to animality. No, no. This is not man's chief duty. We must put the Dharma of humanness into practice.
Satya is mother, Jñāna father, Dharma brother, compassion friend; Śānti wife, forbearance son: these six are the kin of men.
These alone are the true kin of men! The true mother is Satya itself. That is why the Vedas of Bhārata taught, ‘Satyaṃ vada, dharmaṃ cara.’ There is nothing higher than Satya. ‘Trikālābādhyaṃ satyam.’ The force of place, time and circumstance can do nothing at all to change it. Today we have forgotten that divinity which is eternal and true. To have the vision of divinity, no special exertions are needed. When we remove the Ahaṅkāra and mamakāra that cover it, Satya reveals itself to us. The great planets that grip man today are only two: attachment and hatred. Once we root out this attachment and hatred, we ourselves are Brahman. ‘Sarvaṃ viṣṇumayaṃ jagat.’ The whole world takes shape as the form of God.
