In plain words
My vessel is small. As big as my vessel was, so much grace came. The fault is not Yours; I must make my vessel large,” he decided at last. If we make this vessel large, God's grace comes in abundance. God is the embodiment of Prema. If we want to fill ourselves with that principle of Prema, we must make the vessel of the heart large. If we keep our heart narrow and heap blame on God, whose fault is it? The cause of this is none other than the flaw in today's system of education. Within this system of education, the proper moral, dhārmic and spiritual element has become a void. There was the son of a scholar of ancient tradition. Ever performing sandhyāvandana and repeating the Gāyatrī, he went on living his life on a sacred path of this kind. Tell me your company, I shall tell you what you are: so they said. But after some days this boy fell into bad company. Because of that bad company he thought, ‘I too must go to America.’ ‘My friends are going. I too must go,’ he said. Then the boy's father: ‘My son! Our tradition and our principles will not be kept properly there. There will be no chance there to repeat the Gāyatrī mantra. There will be no chance to do sandhyāvandana. If you do it, they will mock you, calling you mad. So do not go,’ he said. But this stubborn child dug in his heels. That father had an only son. Dhaneṣaṇa, dāreṣaṇa, putreṣaṇa: these three cravings are hanging people today. Unable to bear their son's distress, the parents agreed. He went to Delhi and got everything, Pass port, Visa. He was to leave the next day. The mother, to the boy: “Wherever you go, think of our family deity in your heart. Keep thinking of the Gāyatrī. Do not forget the mantra ‘Oṃ bhūr bhuvasvaḥ tatsavitur vareṇyaṃ bhargo devasya dhīmahi dhīyo yonaḥ pracodayāt’,” she said. He thought America was heaven. In truth there is nothing else so bad. How sacred India is! How holy! A land of merit, a blessed land, a land of sacrifice, a divine land, the land of one's birth. There it is all artificial life. He is on his way.
