In plain words

You cannot take along even one small thing. If we took this much soil with us, in Bhārata even soil would be rationed. They do not keep that body in the house he himself built. They put it outside. Such is the body. But with such a body we must achieve well what we have to achieve.

Along with their education, students must learn the principle of the Ātma too

The Ātma is amṛta, but the mind is anṛta. We must lead a life full of amṛta. What is that life of amṛta? We must become worthy of Prema for God. If we have that one thing, we can achieve anything. Along with their education, along with this discrimination, students must learn the principle of the Ātma too. ‘Adhyātma vidyā vidyānāṃ’: all worldly kinds of learning are like small channels. Those channels must join the ocean. The ocean is spiritual learning. ‘Nadīnāṃ sāgaro gatiḥ’: rivers have no other place to go. But we must build some banks for the rivers. If it has no banks, no one can say how many villages it will flood, what danger it will bring. This current runs very fast. It is very swift and deep. If we want to bring such a current to the ocean, what must we do? We must build a bank on this side and a bank on that. That is the eight-lettered name, ‘Saṃśayātma vinaśyate’: we must always be free of doubt. We must not give doubt the least room. The second: ‘Śraddhāvān labhate jñānaṃ.’ If we build these two banks, śraddhā on one side and freedom from doubt on the other, the stream called life flows straight on and joins the ocean called grace.

With the rope called the Name, bind God, the Named, to the peg called the tongue

Today people do so many japas. They do so much śravaṇa. They make so many sacrifices. But this river is not moving forward. What is the reason? All that you do is physical. All this is like a tape recorder or a gramophone.
