In plain words
Just because the fruit has formed, we must not try to cut it and eat it at once. It must stay on the tree for some time, and we must keep on protecting it till it ripens. This is our duty. We must keep on nurturing our heart until it reaches proper ripeness. The ways of nurturing it: these are the sādhanas.
Without Faith No One Can Achieve Anything
In sādhanas Śānti goes on coming of its own accord. With Prema, with great faith, with deep Bhakti, all these people came and reached this village. Without stopping for even a minute, one unbroken rain went on pouring. Had they stayed in their own homes, they would have had many comforts. Because they were here, they had no worry at all about the rain. Getting soaked like that, they went on waiting so long for Swami. This is true tapas. Regarding pleasure and pain both with an even mind, with no thought of the body at all, they went on passing these two days. What tapas is there beyond this? For two days they did tapas. Scorching in the sun, soaking in the rain, bearing up against the wind. This is how they did it. This kind of tapas they did. Truly their Bhakti, their faith itself, is the root cause of this. Without faith no one can achieve anything. Hoping that you will make this faith grow day by day and experience divine Ānanda, and blessing you, I bring My discourse to a close.
