Passage 9

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

So good and bad are in your thoughts. They are not in God at all. So, first of all, our resolves must always be pure resolves, holy resolves. This holiness, this purity, we see in Prema alone.

The one God gives darśan in those forms in keeping with the measure of each person's heart

There is no power greater than this Prema. Wherever you look in this world, what shows equality is Prema alone! This Prema is like a sharp sword. It has no distinctions of one's own and another's at all. It is something that is present in all equally. For all, God is one! But reflections appear. When the sun rises, it falls on a tree. Under the tree there is light in some measure and shade in some measure; it appears in this way. The sun is one! Because the branches of the tree stand apart, shade is seen in one place and light in another. This light and shade are the effect of the tree, not the fault of the sun. The sun is one. But it appears in many different ways. In the same way, the one God gives darśan in those forms in keeping with the measure of each one's heart. People think God has many forms. True! All forms belong to God alone! It looks as though one form has no connection whatever with another. The waves in the ocean move along in various forms. The waves are seen in various forms, but the water is one! Since the waves are made of water, we must not think of the ocean as separate. The qualities in Sat-Cit-Ānanda are in this man too. The two are one! They are not different. We must believe that truth with our whole heart.

We must forget Manas and keep the heart in view!

At one time anger comes to us. In a moment jealousy arises.
