In plain words
You must take God's Prema and give your own Prema. Yet the two together are one and the same Prema! God's Prema itself is seen as a reflection in your body. With this in view, the Teacher of the Gītā taught, ‘Mamaivāṃśo jīvaloke, jīvabhūtas sanātanaḥ.’ The principle of Prema of God, the eternal One, is reflected in all beings. This Prema was not given to be misused. Put it to good use. Fill your heart with it! Share it with others; make the country glad! This is the chief duty of Prema. But we are unable to recognise this principle of Prema. We think of it as a narrow Prema.
The Prema of God is in every man in the form of an atom
From ancient times the maharṣis of Bhārata have gone on welcoming it. They have gone on saying, ‘Anirvacanīyaṃ prema.’ ‘Icchā rāmo bhavati.’ Prema alone is the chief cause of everything. Whatever sweet you make, only when the common material called ‘sugar’ is there do we taste the sweetness in that dish. Without this sugar there is no Mysore pāk, no gulāb jāmun, no barfī, nothing at all. In the same way, only when this sugar called Prema is added to everything, the moral, the physical, the religious and the spiritual, does that thing gain its proper value. So this Prema must keep the heart full. And such Prema you are giving up. Though the Gaṅgā flows right beside you, you long only for drops of dew. What quenches your thirst is the stream of the Gaṅgā, not this drop of dew. What spreads through every man, through every particle and every atom, is the stream of Prema alone! What is everywhere in the form of the atom is Prema alone! This very atom takes shape as the cosmos. Without the atom there is no cosmos at all. That form of the atom itself is the Prema of God. This atom is not merely an atom. ‘Aṇoraṇīyān mahato mahīyān.’ It is there as the great within the great and as the atom within the atom. We need not go to some other place to acquire the principle of Prema that is within us.
