In plain words
You must bring a new ideal. How many people in the world have done how many sādhanas! What Śānti did they all gain! Today we must strive to attain Śānti. When Śānti is not in us, what use is any amount of effort? So Śānti comes to us through a good vision. That is samyak dṛṣṭi; the sacredness in that vision is to be had in nothing else.
Embodiments of Prema!
The work man does is of five kinds: first, he does the work he does by putting it into practice. This is the best. The second does it with his hands. He is middling; the third does it by the strength of his arms. Work done by strength of arm is low, they said. Another does his work by the strength of Ahaṅkāra; this is the lowest of the low, they said. Some do it for outward show. That, they said, is lower still. Every piece of work you do must be done with the heart. Only work done with the heart is true and lasting. Whatever the thought, think it with the heart: it will take a sacred form. The heart is always sacred. In between, many clouds move about. The clouds do not touch the sky. The sky stands beyond the clouds. Clouds are things that move and make sound. The sky, at the highest level of all, is silent. That is why they said “ākāśaṃ gaganaṃ śūnyaṃ”. Even in it there is some sound. Because there is sound, they said, it too is not God. What is God? What is beyond this sound is God, they said. There is some sound in the sky, so it is not the Paramātma. We must go beyond this too. When you do not talk as you please, when you do not waste the vibration in you, when you do not make the sound of speech in you impure, God keeps making Himself known within you, always. That is why there is no need to talk much with anyone. Speak only what is needed. Whether you have all noticed it or not, since January 1st I have not been speaking much, because to say such things I must practise them myself.
