In plain words
If you wish, by all means marry. I do not say no to anyone. But if you do not wish it, I will not force you. Marriage is a matter of source, not of force. So marriages must not be made by compulsion. If you wish, by all means marry. They put it on Swami, saying Swami did not tell them. You must not put it on Swami like this. If you wish, marry. I do not say no. I will surely bless you. But Swami must not get the name of having stopped a marriage. Whatever work anyone has to do, he may do it. There is nothing wrong. But first question your conscience. Is it good or bad. Is it right or wrong. Put this question, and follow the answer that comes from your conscience. That is: follow the master. Who is your master? Your conscience is your master. When you follow your master: face the devil, fight to the end, finish the game. We must not make ourselves into a snake with two tongues. We must be of one word. What has two tongues is a poison snake. What we have is one tongue. So we fall into all the bonds. Where does bondage torment you from? What you desire is what becomes your bondage. You enter into the things of the world. Do the work of the world; there is nothing wrong. But do the work while carrying out your duty with it. You have a wife. Make her happy. You have children. Bring them up. Have them educated. Get them married. Settle them in a proper position. I do not say no to any of these. But there is one duty on you. Whatever you think is not good, do not teach it to the children. Today you call something bad. You teach the children the bad itself. You call something good, yet you do not teach the children that good. This is a great fault. This is not good. Who did this? Dhṛtarāṣṭra did. Once Vidura went. After all his sons had died, Dhṛtarāṣṭra was grieving greatly. However much he had been told before, Dhṛtarāṣṭra had not listened. "Brother! Have you seen your fault at least today? If you had sent away the one wicked son, ninety-nine children would have been saved. I told you that very day. I told you to send away the wicked son.
