In plain words
If I say "Come back," they come. They are always frightened, poor boys. They are very good boys. They cannot understand what Swami's principle is. I myself tell them, "My dear! It is like this. I am never in negative thoughts. I go on in the positive," I told them. Do you know what Rāma did long ago while he lived in the forest? He showed forth the positive. It was all positive. Lakṣmaṇa knew it. That is why he kept adjusting himself. Sītā knew it. She too kept adjusting herself. Those who understand God are very few. Whatever I say, I say for your good. Whatever I do, I do for your good. Recognise that truth first. You need not give me anything. Whatever you need, I will give. I will give you my life in a minute. But I ask nothing at all from you. Recognise that truth and be good. Give an ideal to the country. When people speak of the boys of such-and-such a college, they must be a fine ideal. It is in the hope that you will behave in that way that people keep bringing a cup of rice, saying "birthday." They bring akṣatas. So that Swami will bless with them. Understand this properly. Higher Secondary boys and college boys alike, remember it well. My blessing does not need akṣatas. When so many are writhing with no food, why waste so much rice on akṣatas? You must not waste. You must not waste anything. You must not waste any material. Between me and you there is a bond joined through the mind, not something material like this. Understand well what negative and positive mean. Put away negative thoughts. Positive: the heart itself is the witness to the heart. Go on growing a relationship of that kind. Then I become you and you become me. I am you and you are mine. In this way we can be transformed. It is a very great thing. All of you, in some worldly matters, even when your parents tell you or your relatives and friends tell you, think it over yourselves in the matter of the negative and decide. Which is negative? What the mind urges is negative.
