Passage 13

In plain words

That is why I have no illnesses of any kind. I am always happy. But to correct some people I use some harsh words. Those are not negative words. They too are words filled with Prema. If you look at my heart, it seems like a big iron ball. But it keeps showering Prema, like a ball of butter. It does not stand in the way of health. I do so much work. From the time I rise at dawn till I lie down at night, I see people. I look at the letters they give. I give everyone the joy fitting for them. Any officer, any official, has one sunday holiday. I have not even one sunday as a holiday. I am always working. Whether I am here or wherever I go, I go on doing work. Show me who there is who has been working day and night like this for 72 years. Never have I wished for rest. I am always at rest. What is the reason? To be without the negative is rest. I have no such attachment to the body. The body is for your sake alone. Only where there is attachment to the body is proper rest needed. Whatever I do, whatever work I do, whatever actions I perform, it is for your sake, not for mine. To recognise such a truth and act on it is man's chief duty. What I always desire of you, what I ask, is one thing alone. Fill your heart with Prema. Offer me that alone. I am not asking anyone for anything. Be loving, share your Prema with others, be happy and make others happy. When you are happy, you give happiness to others. Where does this happiness come from? Inquiring where Happiness is, they have said: happiness is union with God. Happiness comes to you through the name of God alone. Through sādhanas such as these one must make one's birth worthwhile. Do japa and dhyāna in a worldly way. They are all karmas that make time worthwhile. But that is not the way to win true Śānti. To turn the heart positive is Śānti.
