In plain words
So the form of woman is the very deity who is the support not only of such a home, not only of the country, but of the universe itself. From ancient times in this Bhārata, people went on cultivating such holy customs. For this home they gave her the name Gṛhalakṣmī. That is, however many worries, however many hardships, however many sorrows there may be in the home, women are those who, smiling and happy, sacrifice their lives to keep up the good name of the home.
We must recognise the many powers in women
In women there are seven kinds of powers. Satya, Prema, Dharma, sacrifice, forbearance, sympathy, Ānanda. Woman is the very one in whom these seven powers come together. Through this woman, for the home, for individuals and for children alike, to spread through the land, to bring good fame, to give joy, to secure peace and security, this woman herself is the root cause. So, people of Bhārata, see the house and see its mistress. This thing called the home is a temple, a place where the deity is installed. That is why she is a woman of good character. Because he was a great sage who recognised such a holy heart, Mātaṅga gave her the chance. Even to recognise the purity of women, one must have the good fortune. But through the influence of this Kali age, through their education and learning, they regard women as mere playthings. No, no: these are the very ones who uplift the country, who give the country its ideal, who bring out the auspicious virtues of the country. They (men) do not try to recognise this truth. Even when they recognise it, they pay no heed to it at all. This very thing is the neglect of men. Regarding women only as cooks, as officers of the kitchen, they have enjoyed them and enjoyed this happiness, and have gone on forgetting the strength and capacities of women altogether. What is the root reason for that woman being in the kitchen? The mistress of the house. To make good the meaning of that name, they cooked all the meals in that house and went on bringing forth holy food to give husband and children proper health and happiness.
