In plain words
‘Alas! Once you go away, will you come back or not? So you must not go,’ he begged Him earnestly. Then, for the sake of his prayer, the cowherd boy stayed. ‘Sleep right here; I do not know when I will get up and go. So put your hand on me. I will put my hand on you. Whenever you move, I will know. So you cannot move,’ he said. With that hand laid on him, he lay down.
Through the power of that touch, Jñāna dawned in him. ‘Sambhāṣaṇaṃ saṅkaṭanāśanaṃ, sparśanaṃ pāpanāśanaṃ.’ Rising at daybreak, ‘Sūrdās! I am Kṛṣṇa Myself. To show you the way, to drive your Ajñāna far off, I have been playing these dramas. Shall I give you eyes?’ With that, He touched his eyes once. The very moment He touched them, his sight came. He saw Kṛṣṇa. ‘Kṛṣṇa! I do not need these eyes any more. With eyes that have seen You I cannot look at anyone else. Take these eyes and go; roam the world. What do I need these eyes for? “Having eyes, they became blind, unable to behold Your auspicious form.” How many people have no eyes? Are they all seeing Your form? I have seen Your form; this much is enough for me. Having ears, they became dull, unable to hear Your most enchanting song. So I do not need these eyes or these ears. Give me the eye of Jñāna,’ he said, and at that Kṛṣṇa placed His hand on his head. His life became one with Kṛṣṇa. So no one can say at what time, where, in what circumstance, along what path God will give His grace. So keep chanting the Name and stay ready at all times. Whatever happens at all, experience it as God's līlā.
All Is for Our Good
A boy told this a little while ago. The king's finger was cut. The minister saw all this. ‘Great king! This is all for the good,’ he said. ‘Ah! Today my finger is gone and you say it is good for me.
