In plain words
3H H-Heart, H-Head, H-Hand.
That is why this alone is true mankind. The oneness of this triad is itself true humanness. Whatever obstacles come to such humanness, they can escape them in a moment. If there are any doubts in the mind, no power, however great, can protect them. The positive will be good and powerful indeed. But when the negative is not right, there is no use in having this positive. So the negative will be good; if there is no positive, the negative too cannot work. So in both of them the oneness of the Divine must flow through.
Our body is the negative, the Ātma the positive. That is why ‘deho devālaya prokto jīvodeva ssanātanaḥ’: this temple must be in good order. The God inside must be in the right condition. But some temples will have fallen down. Nobody at all goes to such a temple. But in some, God is beautiful. But the temples are not in the right condition. They will have built the temples very beautifully, but look inside and there is no idol. In this way we must recognise the bond between the two, negative and positive, and act on it. Only then will lasting Śānti come to us.
Śānti: whether through objects the eye can see, through persons or through worldly things, we do not gain the Śānti of the Ātma. No object at all has the power to give it. No person has the power to give it. No action either has the power to give it. But the power to give it belongs to the heart alone. That itself is compassion. We must develop that feeling called compassion. But where is the place of that compassion? It is in our heart alone, not outside. There alone is true Śānti. Śānti is within you, not outside. Outside, all is No peace, only pieces! So, though Divinity is everywhere, it shines out only in some places.
