Passage 16

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

The people of Bhārata too must grow faith of this kind. They must grow the faith that the culture of Bhārata is very sacred. Taking culture for some kind of joke, man today neglects it. What is culture? What is caste? What caste means, what culture means, they do not know even today, however great intellectuals they may be. Caste of Humanity, religion of Love, language of Heart. They make no effort to recognise this truth. What is our caste? Caste of humanity! You, I, all are one and the same.

Culture of Love! In every human being, atheist, theist, yāstika and anāstika, in all of them, there is Prema. You will not find a human being without Prema anywhere in the world. Not in human beings alone: even in cattle, birds, beasts and the rest there is Prema.

Unity, Purity, Divinity

As soon as a cow's calf is born, she herself licks and licks it, covered as it is with the caul, and makes it clean. The moment she has cleaned it, the calf gets up. Until then it does not get up. That is, purity is very necessary. That is why ‘cleanliness is itself godliness’; that cleanliness, that is, purity, must grow in us. How does purity grow in us? Purity comes only when unity is reached. Through unity, purity is attained. Through purity, divinity comes to us.

Today there is no unity, no purity, no divinity. Only community and enmity: both of these they keep on growing. Wherever this enmity comes, humanness goes. There is no humanness at all. More than animal nature, demonic nature is growing. Simply because this demonic nature grows, humanness is wasting away. The form is indeed a human form, but the actions are all demonic actions. So we must drive these demonic actions away. We must pass from humanness into Divinity. Then this becomes the path of Satya.
