In plain words
Greed itself is the cause of sorrow
But man today does not follow such a path. Wherever he goes, he must take, take, take. Not a word of giving is to be found in him at all. That is just why man falls into many kinds of sorrow. This is nothing but taking; this is a mean path; taking from God is a great path. But even taking from Prakṛti is a lowly path. That is precisely why the Buddha once questioned Himself. Who is the richest man in this world! My father thinks he is the richest. All the emperors think they are the richest. This is a great mistake. He who has much satisfaction is a richest man. Who is poorest man? He who has much desire is the poorest man. So it is only when we go on reducing these desires little by little that we gain the right to receive the Prema of God. So we must go on thinning out this selfish Prema little by little. We must go on reducing these things called desires little by little. Only when we follow such a path can we reach the true goal.
Today, on the spiritual path, many people follow many kinds of path. ‘Śravaṇam, kīrtanam,’ he said. Kṛṣṇamūrti, the president for Madras State, said it. But from ancient times these stories, though some of them are true, have been opening many ways to certain misconceptions. Viṣṇu, Śiva, that is: in the life of the world, people have still gone on calling out many kinds of names. Who is this Brahmā? Who is this Viṣṇu? Who is this Śiva? This Brahmā, Viṣṇu and Śiva are nothing but the guṇas in us; they are not other forms.
The guṇas rajas, sattva and tamas are themselves Brahmā, Viṣṇu and Maheśvara
Until now there is no one who has seen Brahmā, Viṣṇu and Maheśvara in bodily form.
