Passage 1

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

When mind, word and deed are one in a man, he is no mere man: he becomes great; when mind, word and deed go separate ways, he is no man; he is only a beast.

Man in Form, Man in Substance

Embodiments of Prema!

Human birth began as long as several hundred thousand years ago. Though so many hundreds of thousands of years have gone by, humanness in this man has not grown in the least to this day. What is the reason? Man is living as a man in form, not living as an ideal man. What does it mean to be a man? Does merely having a head, legs and hands make one a man? No. The proper study of mankind is man. Thoughts, words, action: humanness is precisely the oneness of these three. The embodiment of Śānti that was in humanness, the embodiment of Satya in humanness, the embodiment of Dharma in humanness, the embodiment of Prema that goes with humanness: today these have come to nothing. When these four qualities are gone, he is nothing but a beast; he is not a man. Today we must make the right effort to set this animal nature apart from us, develop our humanness and join with divinity. For this purpose we must build temples, churches, mosques and all such places, nurture our humanness through them, and strive to reach divinity. But the man of today thinks one thing, says another and does yet another.
