Passage 4

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

This alone is the true path of Dharma. Then what is the third? “Na brūyāt satyamapriyaṃ.” This itself is spirituality. Morality, Dharma and spirituality have been regarded as three prāṇas. The first is the prāṇa of the body, the second the prāṇa of the mind, the third the prāṇa of the Ātma. The one you think you are, that is physical life. The one others think you are, the mental life. The one you really are i.e. Atmic life. These three themselves are morality, Dharma and spirituality. Only on the day we protect the life of these three will humanness blossom and shine forth. Man today is unable to understand what humanness is.

Sweetness in the words and bitterness in the mind: this is not good; it is only a stain on you. A stainless life holds good on earth; listen, heroic son of Bhārata!

Though the words of a few are sweet, there is bitterness in their mind. We must not keep bitterness in the mind. Even if it is not in the words, there must be sweetness in the mind. This itself is the chief value for man. Today it is not seen that way. The whole mind is filled with nothing but bitterness. When will such a mind change? That is precisely why, when we develop what is called divinity, when we foster unity, when we foster patience and sympathy, unity takes shape in society. Only when unity takes shape will people have nurtured the honour of the country, the dignity of the country and the welfare of the world. Today no one gives thought to the welfare of the world. If it goes only as far as oneself and one's family, what becomes of the state of the world?
