It is only because there are ideal people and ideal teachers in it that the students' zeal and encouragement grow day by day. Today, if there are ideal teachers, any institution at all can be shaped into an ideal institution. Only in the Sathya Sai institutions are these ideal teachers found. If there were teachers like these throughout the world, in every educational institution, the world would progress beyond measure. How should teachers be? A teacher must recognise the meaning of the word adhyāpaka and act by it. He who practises and then imparts is the adhyāpaka. In olden times it was such a one who was called ācārya. Ācārya means: those who practise, impart to the students and nourish the ideal are ācāryas. Today we must inquire whether we ourselves are doing what we tell the children. Only when you are doing it yourself does the authority to teach your children come to you. So first of all you must bring about a transformation in yourself. First be, next do, third tell. Only when you follow this rightly in these three ways do the students turn out to be right students. Because there are such teachers in these two institutions, these two institutions are growing day by day. None of them toils for selfishness or self-interest. Such teachers must first be made ready today. Narasimhamurthy was formerly in the Loka Seva institution itself. But from there they moved him to Muddenahalli. It was only then being newly set up. When I went to Muddenahalli: ‘Narasimhamurthy! This is still small. You can put suitable people in charge of it, but you must come to Prasanthi Nilayam, which is big and growing day by day,’ I told him. He got ready then and there. Within just half an hour of Swami's giving the order, he was ready. He came and sat in My car. But all the teachers at Muddenahalli filled their eyes with tears. I told them: ‘It is not that that place is one thing and this another. The two are one and the same. So do not grieve in the least.’ I gave them the words of comfort they needed to hear and came here with Narasimhamurthy.
