Without it, out looks are being lost. It is all outward vision. Where does this outward vision come from? It comes from you alone. But we must nurture it in its right state.
Unity Itself Is the Goal of Life
Students! People as good as you, of qualities like yours, must in turn make the right people their helpers, join with them, remove the faults of society and build a pure society. There is no wealth greater than unity. Unity itself is the goal of our life. Practice itself is the root cause of its growth. So we must strengthen unity. I and you are one. If in this way the ninety crore people of Bhārata go on adding it all up, I and you are one, how much joy there will be! When you think of him as your younger brother, how much you love him! That itself is Prema. All are my younger brothers, all are my elder brothers: love like that. If your younger brother does something wrong, you hit him, don't you? In the same way, if an outsider does wrong, hit him, but look on the brother with Prema alone. There is a mother. When the child does wrong, she hits it. After hitting it, she sits it on her lap and fondles it. Even when she hits, she hits only out of Prema. Because there is Prema, she hits like that. The sound is heard well. If she holds it like this, there is a sound of air, as if she had hit hard. The sound must be heard, but the blow must not land. In the same way, are you punishing the one who did wrong? God too does the same thing. He punishes the one who has done wrong. That punishment is only for protection. A doctor takes up a knife. He operates and removes the growth in the stomach. Is he wicked? Is what he did good or bad? Though he cut with a knife, he is a helper, not one who harms. In the same way, even when God gives some punishments, it is with Prema that He gives them. Love lives by giving and forgiving self lives by getting and forgetting. So there must be no self in us. Do whatever you do with Love. Only good will come of it all. So love is God live in Love. Talk to your friends with Prema; if they meet any kind of trouble, help them.
