In plain words
Without this Ātma that is the support, the universe itself would not appear to us. The Veda said, “Paśyannapica na paśyati mūḍho.” O fool, there is one thing, divinity, standing as the support. The Ātma principle itself is reflected in every form. It is not merely reflection. There is reaction, resound. How can you recognise such a divine form? Simply believe, follow, practise, carry it out. Experience Ānanda. If we are to recognise this principle, then when we inquire where God is, it is so very wonderful. God is in the forest. God is in the mansion. God is in the mind. God is in the heart. God is in the home, God is in thoughts, God is in the word, God is in the play, God is on the way. How can you define the principle of God that is everywhere? Do not try to inquire into God's principle. Simply believe, worship, and experience Ānanda. A small example to recognise divinity well: a mother's nature is Prema. But can you show a form for this Prema? Prema has no form. But the mother, who is the support of Prema, is herself the embodiment of Prema. In the same way, you cannot show a form for true Prema. Without that very mother, where would you be? How would you experience this Prema? You could not experience it. In the same way, because the Ātma principle is behind it, man makes it reflect in what is called Prema, the Ātma. This whole world is reflection, reaction, resound; for all of these the one and only reality is the Ātma. Today we are forgetting that reality. We see the reflection, we see the reaction, we hear the resound. In this alone we must rejoice. But a reaction comes only when there is an action, does it not? A resound comes only when there is a sound, does it not? So this sound is somewhere. Though it is everywhere, it is not visible to us. When can you see it? If, holding full faith, you pray to God with sacred Prema, with selfless Prema, it will surely reveal itself to you, this principle of Prema. But you go on saying the name ‘God’.
