In plain words
So you yourselves must be embodiments of God. When you recognise this truth and understand your own principle well, you will be greatly blessed. Only then will all of you take shape as models for others. So, since you were born a man, you must become an ideal man. To show this ideal, he has come as a man. But why is this man forgetting his own principle? He is making these desires of Prakṛti grow. Only because these keep growing is he forgetting his own principle. You must reduce these desires of Prakṛti little by little. Your divine feeling will remain with you. That is why, in humanness: Less luggage, more comfort, make travel a pleasure. What is this luggage? These desires themselves are our luggage. You must keep only so much as is fitting. You must not keep desires that go beyond the limit. Through them, danger comes to us ourselves.
The Vice-Chancellors Here Are All Men of Intellect, Devoted to Service
So, students! Today we have let go the old Vice-Chancellor, Venkatraman, and taken the new Vice-Chancellor, S. V. Giri. We are not saying welcome to anyone. When sending anyone off, we are not offering congratulations. We are not saying farewell. Only if we had said welcome would there be a farewell to say. So for him it is not a welcome. For this one it is not a farewell. Both are our very own. Just now Venkatraman said it: ‘Whatever service is given me, I will do it.’ For that very reason we are not sending him away either. Keeping him right here too, we are looking to have him make some efforts here as a research scholar, and give a little effort to this research management. There is a big hospital here. In this hospital the light is very poor. At the time of some operations, if the light were very bright, it would be a great help indeed. Apart from natural light, we are appointing our Venkatraman to make some by scientific means and develop that light. So the names are changing, yes, but the men are not going. First of all, Gokak came in here.
