Passage 16

In plain words

This is a true word. Every Avatāra, too, is an Avatāra come forth to keep Satya. Whoever may forget, God does not forget His own Satya. In whatever situation, He does not forget His own Satya. That is just why, by the word He gave Rādhā, He stilled the flute from that day on. In these dramas and films Kṛṣṇa is shown with the flute, but if you truly look, after Rādhā gave up her life that day Kṛṣṇa never touched the flute itself. Who is Rādhā? They take her to be just some woman, think of her in all sorts of ways, and say all sorts of discordant things. For her there was no difference at all between woman and man; attachment to the body itself, she had none. That is why Rādhā is dharā. This Prakṛti itself was born as Rādhā. That very dharā stood as the true ādhāra for the world. This itself is Rādhā, Radha. When it begins from R, it becomes Radha. When it begins from A, it becomes ADHAR. When it begins from D, it becomes DHARA. This, when it begins from A, becomes ADHAR. For Rādhā, the ādhāra is ārādhana. That itself is Rādhā. A ceaseless stream of ārādhana itself is Rādhā. Whenever you looked, at all times and in every state, the remembrance of God's Name alone. That itself is Rādhā. Rādhā was not one to let go of it at any moment. Even in sleep she would remember Him, ‘Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa’. That is just why, in Bhārata, from beginningless time, they have given in this way such sacred ideals of what Bhakti and prapatti towards God mean.

So you too, today, hold fast to Kṛṣṇa's feet. All the Gopīs decided at a meeting that, somehow or other, they must catch Kṛṣṇa today without fail. They kept watch on all four sides. Kṛṣṇa, who knew of this, went on neatly providing a clue to suit it. Mādhava, who knows the heart. Mādhava, who knows the secret, poured all the milk on the ground. He soaked His feet well in that milk. Just as all the Gopīs came running, crying, ‘Now He's caught!’, He left the milk and ran away. Where He had gone could not be seen. In a single moment He vanished. Then all the Gopīs went along, taking the marks of those feet as their guide. Kṛṣṇa was caught in a room.
