Passage 10

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

Into this worldly life you must bring the life of the highest as well. Look, the fruit has ripened well. Seen from above, it becomes very soft. If you leave it like that for a few more days, it rots. It takes on a black look. A smell comes. But the fruit has ripened. Its form has changed. Its smell has changed. Though so much has changed, the seed alone stays safe. Through this worldly feeling you make up all things into relationships and kinship. These are only changes of your Prema; Prema is one, and that is the truth. There is a master of a house. The son calls him father. The daughter-in-law says father-in-law. The grandson goes and says grandfather. In this way each one, thinking of him by a name of his own, enjoys the bond. But this man does not have so many forms for so many people. He is one person alone. Many persons give him these names because of their many relationships and kinships.

For Samyak Dṛṣṭi to Come, Samyak Bhāva Must Come

Through this influence of Kali the whole outer world is becoming filthy. There is no such thing as Śānti anywhere. Śānti is within you; it is not seen outside. You who struggle for Śānti, first of all develop inner vision. That is samyak dṛṣṭi. Long ago there lived Ramaṇa Maharṣi. He sat down resolved to gain samyak dṛṣṭi. He took a fruit in his hand. On that fruit he wrote ‘Om’. He went on developing his vision on ‘Om’. After some time, because the fruit went bad, the ‘Om’ also changed. Then he thought, “On this fruit of Prakṛti my physical Oṃkāra too has turned into Prakṛti.” So by these sādhanas of Prakṛti our feelings do not take the shape of the highest. For this samyak dṛṣṭi to come to us, samyak bhāva itself must come. Lasting feelings must grow in us. That itself is the true and eternal Principle. Today we are making progress in outward vision.
