In plain words
In the water we drink, in the food we eat, the air we breathe, all is magnetism. So she lifted it easily. Who bent it? Only Rāma bent it. Who is Rāma? The divine magnet. It was because He is that divine magnet that He bent it easily. This divine magnet is in everyone, but wherever, in whomever, that magnet is stronger, it attracts in many ways. How must we develop this? We must develop it through Prema alone. If you hold to ‘I and you are one, I and you are one,’ it becomes ‘I and you are not only one, but I and you are we.’ We must go into oneness. We must journey in divinity. We must experience Ānanda in unity. We must lead our life with the principle of Prema. So the powers and capacities that are in you are seen in no other individual. God is right within you. You yourself are God. First of all, you must recognise this principle. When you recognise it, there will be no room for doubts of any kind.
Put On the Coloured Glasses Called Prema, and Everything Appears Full of Prema
Many people indulge in abuse, praise and contempt in many ways. But what is the cause of this? It is the mark of their bad intellect. Only such people keep abusing others. Who abuses? A good man abuses no one. Only a bad man abuses others. It is only because they have many faults in themselves that they keep searching out the faults of others. If you have only good feelings in you, you will not see faults in others at all. If you put on red-coloured glasses, everything looks red. If you put on blue-coloured glasses, everything looks blue. So if you put on Prema-coloured glasses, everything looks full of Prema. If you put on glasses full of hatred, it is only the fault of your own sight. Whoever abuses us, we should pay no heed. If someone abuses loudly, that abuse goes off into the air; if he abuses inwardly, to himself, it comes back to him alone. Are they abusing the body? The body is inert. Or are you abusing the Ātma? That Ātma is in you too. So you end up as one who has abused yourself.
