In plain words
Every man, every student, every educated person worries that the value of money has gone down. The value of the rupee has gone down. The value of the dollar has gone down. The value of the pound has gone down. They worry a great deal about what has gone down in this way. Man is valuable than all the wealth of the world. It is man who gives value to everything. Who is it that gives a value to the rupee, the pound, the dollar? Who is it that gives a value to gold, to the diamond? Who is it that gives a value to land? Man himself. When the value of man, who gives value to everything, has gone down, man does not think of it. Today what has gone down is man's own value. It is because man has lost his value that the value of all things has kept rising. When the whole world is on one side and man on the other, the balance swings this way and that. So man is a supremely distinguished being. Man is worth far more than all the riches in the world. What madness it is that such a man, having lost his own value today, should worry, “We have lost the value of money, we have lost the value of land, we have lost the value of gold”!
Only When We Put Money to Good Use Do We Get the Right Result
Money is needed. But you must keep it within a limit. You must not misuse it. Misuse of money is evil. It is because it is used in this way that the money value in every country is falling so much. It is not being put to good use. When they want to do business worth 10 rupees, they take a loan of 10,000 rupees. Why 10,000? Your business is 10 rupees, and you take a loan of 10,000. Whose fault is this? For you it may be natural to take a loan of ten thousand rupees. But the bankers who give the loan should take note of his business and make a proper enquiry. There is fault in the bankers of today too. It is not one man's alone. They must hold an enquiry whether the money taken is being put to good use or not. Earlier South Korea, Indonesia, all these, took heavy loans. If you enquire whether they used the money they took for the purpose for which they received it, they did not use it for that at all.
