In plain words
Only then shall we be people who have nourished the distinction of humanness. Students must take due care in the way they use money. When your expenses come to 10 rupees, you should expect only 9 rupees from your parents. Only then will you put money to good use. If your expenses are 10 rupees and you take 20 rupees from your parents, the 10 rupees become the root cause of misuse. Misuse of money is evil. Don't waste money. Money is divinity, Goddess wealth. You must not waste money. This is one part of control over desires. The second is time. Time is God. Don't waste time. Time waste is life waste. Time is the form of God. You must not waste time. As it is said, “Kālāya namaḥ, kālakālāya namaḥ, kāladarpadamanāya namaḥ, kālātītāya namaḥ, kālasvarūpāya namaḥ,” all is time. For a newborn child to become a boy, age, time itself, is the main thing. To become a man from a boy, time is needed. To become a grandfather from a man, time is needed. Time itself is the root cause of everything. You must see that you do not misuse this time. Then you will not misuse money. To put money to good use, you must first of all put time to good use. When man grows with bad habits of living, bad thoughts and bad practices, money too is misused. So you must not waste money. From whom did this money come? It is not what you have earned. After your studies are over you may earn money. But until you finish your studies, whose money is this? It is the parents’ money. We must regard each coin they give as a drop of the parents’ blood. So if you waste money, you will be wasting blood. So your blood, your head, your money: all of it is parent's gift. So first of all you must express gratitude to your parents. When you are on the right path in this way, you will not misuse money in the least.
