In plain words
Students! Many people of experience have come. In these three days they will give you so many valuable things. There is no use in merely listening. You must try to put them into practice as far as possible. People of such experience do not come to every college. Experts in the field of Finance have come. They have come with great enthusiasm to tell you how money that is being misused should be put to good use. You must give joy to their hearts.
To go about steering clear, neither hurting others nor being hurt oneself: that is the wisdom of education. You must not hate anyone. You must do only good to all. What kind of good?
To do good to one who has done you good is nothing remarkable, if you consider it; he who does good to one who has done him harm, without looking for a fault, is the skilful one, O Sumati!
It is not greatness to do good to the one who has done you good. You must do good to the very one who has done you harm. That alone is greatness. Whoever is in this world, in whatever way, you must go on doing them due good. This itself is the essence of the 18 Purāṇas: help ever hurt never. Vyāsa said, ‘Paropakāraḥ puṇyāya pāpāya parapīḍanam.’ If every man helps in this way, the whole country will be prosperous. Every day you pray, ‘Lokās samastā sukhino bhavantu’, may all be happy. There is no use in merely saying it in words. You must do good to at least one or two and give them due Śānti. To give Śānti to the whole world is beyond anyone's power. So, as far as you can, you must do good to at least a few and give them Śānti. There are so many faults that make the value of money fall. Not all of them should be told in public.
