Passage 13

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

But if you enquire where this fault came from, you can say that the main reason is just that moral values are sinking on every side. This disease spreads all the way up to the government. It is not greatness to increase your desires. You must keep reducing them. In the world, it is those who have done harm who appear to be great. All the people ask about just this. “Why should we not punish those who have done so much harm, why should we let them go?” To punish or to protect is not your responsibility. There are the government's rules and regulations. The government may overlook this. But the power of God never lets go. If not today, then tomorrow, they will surely suffer its troubles. When you look with the outer eye, doubts may arise, but in Divinity there is no flaw whatever.

Information Is of No Use to Us; Transformation Is Needed

Every day you read in the paper that people are making off with thousands and thousands of crores of rupees from the banks. Whose fault is this? It is not the fault of one man alone. If they have misused so many crores of money, it means that everyone is a partner in it. But whose fault it is in this, the government will see to that. At your level as students, do not argue about this. First of all look to yourself. I told you at the time of the Birthday. If you go on putting the question, “Who are you, who are you,” it only amounts to collecting information. There is no result. Who am I. That is transformation. Information is of no use to us at all. Transformation is needed. In every matter students must stand as fine ideals. Goodness always remains alive. Human efforts and sādhanas must be shown as a proper ideal. The reason is this: you may speak somewhat proudly, “We are MBA boys, MFM boys.” But what matters is to live with good ideals.
