Passage 6

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

You love your mother. Since when? You love her after you were born to her, grew up and came of age, after the feeling took shape that she is your mother. Without that very faith, “This is my mother,” you could not love her. So faith itself is the root cause of Prema.

Where there is faith, there is Prema; where there is Prema, there is Śānti; where there is Śānti, there is Satya; where there is Satya, there is Ānanda; where there is Ānanda, there is God.

Śānti, Satya and Ānanda are not somewhere outside; they are in you yourselves. You yourselves are the embodiments of Śānti; you yourselves are the embodiments of Satya; you yourselves are the embodiments of Ānanda. Searching for them outside is the very mistake you are making. Nothing is separate from you. Everything has come from you! Everything is the reflection of the inner being.

Sādhanas Without Prema Are Fruitless

Love everyone as you love your own reflection that you see in the mirror. Whatever body you see, think that My reflection is in it. To teach this eternal truth, Kṛṣṇa said in the Bhagavad Gītā, “Mamaivāṃśo jīvaloke jīvabhūtas sanātanaḥ.” “You are a part of Me; I and you are not different. It is only because of attachment to the body that changes take place. But our principle of Prema is one,” He said. However many sādhanas you do while setting Prema aside, they are fruitless! This world is like a mirror. You are living with this mirror as your support. Everything seen in this mirror is a negative. In the mirror your right eye appears as the left eye, and your right hand as the left hand. How can you take such a thing to be the truth? If you take away the mirror, the reflection goes too. What remains is the original itself. That is sākṣātkāra. “Sākṣāt ākāraṃ sākṣātkāraṃ,” they said. Some say, “I attained sākṣātkāra in meditation.”
