Experience joy yourselves and bring joy to others too. Share what you have come to know here with many people. That is the spreading you must do. Education joined with human values, Education in Human Values, we call EHV. This can also be called 3HV. Heart, Head, Hand: the unity of these three is the true human value. So do not take EHV to mean some great big things and spread it that way. Heart, word and deed: there must be harmony between these three. What you think in the heart, you must say with the mouth. What you say with the mouth, you must put into practice. No human value surpasses this. You can easily teach this to everyone.
The Learning You Impart Must Do Good to the World
First of all, you must make the Education you have learnt into Skill. Education relates to the power of knowledge, Skill to the power of ability. Only when you add the power of ability to your power of knowledge does your learning need Balance. There must be Balance in the way we walk. In the same way there must be Balance in our education too. Only then will the world too be safe and well. What is Satya? What is Dharma? Inquire into this, and put into learning the power of ability that goes with it. The scientists of today are making bombs that burn lives to ashes. They think that is great learning. No, no. Through their research they must see that good comes to the world. Only then will the Balance be right. Electric current gives us light, shows us the way, pumps water to grow the crops, and through the fan brings us air and drives away the heat.... Thinking, “In this way it is of so much use to us,” if out of gratitude you take hold of it, saying, “O current! You are doing me a great favour,” at that very moment it will take your life.
So you must find out how far each thing can be of use to us, and use it only that far. If we use the progress scientists have made in science and technology in a way that suits the people, great good will come to the world.
