In plain words
To have faith in yourself is to have faith in God! For God is in you yourself as the ‘I’. God has no particular shape. The ‘I’ itself is divinity. The Veda has given the four Mahāvākyas, “Tattvamasi”, “Prajñānaṃ Brahma”, “Ahaṃ Brahmāsmi” and “Ayamātmā Brahma”. Many people utter these sacred sayings, but how many practise them? Whatever is not put into practice is mere show! God is in all. To say that we must love all and yet take up hostility against some is a great mistake. Do not speak at all with those you do not like. Stay silent. But do not look at them with disgust. Do not hate them. I love all. I have hatred for no one. To Me no one is an enemy. To Me all are devotees! Children! Friends! All are one! You must recognise this truth and live by it.
You and I Are One
Embodiments of Prema! The Prema in you and the Prema in Me: the two are one! But your Prema is tainted by infatuation with goods and vehicles. I have no craving whatever for goods and vehicles. Mine is Pure Love. Because the Prema in you is mixed with cravings, it is turning somewhat negative. The negative is not to be found in Me however much you search. All of Mine is positive! With the feeling ‘You and I are one’, join this positive to your negative. Then you will experience Ānanda in your life without limit. What kind of Ānanda is that? “Brahmānandaṃ parama sukhadaṃ ...” Then you yourselves become embodiments of Brahman. You need not do any sādhanas. But if you wish to do sādhanas, do them. There is no harm. You do all these only for the satisfaction of your mind, not for the satisfaction of the Ātma. See oneness in all. Share the principle of Prema with all. This is true sādhana.
God Is One!
Recognise the truth that by whatever name you worship Him, God is one. “Ek prabhūke anek nām.” When you perform the worship of the thousand names, you offer one flower at a time, saying one name at a time, “Keśavāya namaḥ, mādhavāya namaḥ, nārāyaṇāya namaḥ ...”. But is there a separate form for each name there? No! You worship the one form with all these names. Not only that. At the time of the worship of the limbs you say, ‘Netraṃ samarpayāmi’. But are you really offering the eye? No. You touch the eye with a flower and offer that flower. What you say is the eye; what you give is a flower! Even God does not accept worship of this kind. The limbs God gave, why should God want them? “O God! All is Yours! These limbs are You! I am Yours. You are mine”: when you feel this, there is no more need for these acts of worship. But those not at so high a level may do japa, may do dhyāna, may do small acts of worship. There is no harm. But first of all you must little by little root out your bad habits and negative feelings. You must develop positive feelings.
Whatever Happens Is for Your Good!
Embodiments of Prema! Do not set about reviling in return those who revile you. Whom are they reviling?
