In plain words
Even though they are outside, they are Mine, are they not? They work very hard, and without even eating properly they wait here for months on end, poor things! In the same way, saving up, the Sathya Sai Old Students sent forty-five lakhs to the Central Trust.
Girl and boy students! We are not asking for your money; we ask only for your Prema, your welfare, your progress and your Ānanda. Wherever you are, lead an ideal life. Some imagine that, somehow, all the great and important people are giving crores of rupees to this hospital. We are not asking the great and important people. Nor are they giving to us. What is given with Prema, though small, is great. Great and important people tried to offer Jesus very great gifts. But he did not accept them. He joyfully accepted a small coin that a very poor old woman gave with Prema. He kept that coin with him till the day he died. In the same way, what I need is Prema, not money; in the days ahead many more such hospitals will be set up. But I am not asking anyone. Mine is a true resolve. So it will surely be fulfilled. What we do is good work, and to good works only good comes. My goodness itself is My help.
Girl and boy students! Take back the money you gave. We ask only for your Prema, your welfare and your progress. Only when you show an ideal in your conduct do I have joy. Earn the good name that Sathya Sai Students are people of very good conduct. Not today, not ever, do I wish for money. Money comes and goes. Cultivate moral strength. Build up your character. Cultivate courage. Share Prema with everyone.
Those outside do not know what the Prema of the devotees and the children for Swami is like. Without a thought even for your health, you are doing Swami's service. But I do not need service like that. The jīva itself is God. You must not make the jīva suffer. So eat well, keep healthy, and then enter into service. You are going from village to village and doing service. Such wealth of service is equal to many crores of rupees.
