In plain words
All human beings are members of the world family. All are children of God. All are brothers and sisters. Why these hatreds among those who belong to one family? Why these quarrels? In man, hatred, anger, envy, vanity... such vices have entered and are filling the heart with poison.
The joy that is in service is in nothing else
Embodiments of Prema! Through Prema you can achieve any task, however great; you can bring even the five elements under your control. When the five elements are under your control, the world itself comes under your sway. So do not think of yourselves as small. You are very exalted. But through ignorance you think you are small. To rid yourselves of this ignorance you must develop Prema; develop Prema, and the whole world becomes one. Prema is infinite, unfathomable, deathless. You are unable to recognise this principle of Prema. It is not possible to cross the ocean of saṃsāra by tapas, or by pilgrimages, or by japa, tapas and the like. If your birth is to be fulfilled, you must serve the distressed with Prema. The joy found in service is found in nothing else; however much wealth you give, it cannot be had.
In this world very many people have earned wealth. But in the very end, what did they do? Did even one of them take so much as a single naya paisa with him? When you go, you cannot take even a fistful of earth. If every person who goes could take even a fistful of earth with him, by now even earth would have come under ‘ration’ in the world. Only the good and the bad you have done in life will go with you. You may hold high office. You may earn a great deal of wealth and become known as great. But in the end nothing stays with you. Greatness is like a passing cloud.
You need not earn a great name; it is enough to earn a good name. Rāvaṇa was very great. But he was not good. Śrī Rāma won a name as a good man.
