Passage 7

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

Hindus, Christians, Muslims ... all are one. Give up religious differences and recognise the truth that God is one.

The one who grows Prema in his heart: he is the Christian, he is the Sikh, he is the Hindu, he is the Muslim, he is the human being on this earth.

So you must foster the principle of Prema in your heart. Do not keep enmity with anyone.

Embodiments of Prema! Many great souls were born in this region of Maharashtra. Living in such a sacred land, you must lead sacred lives. The tongue that does not utter the Name of God and the hands that do no good to others are useless. Contemplate the Paramātma at all times. Keep the Name of God in mind. If all the people of the country contemplate God wholeheartedly, the country can make great progress; we need not turn to other countries for help. No country has the great strength that Bhārata has. Bhārata is the land that has led all countries. “How can one tell the good fortune of Bhārata? In this land Hari is born again and again and teaches the truth!”

Embodiments of Prema! May all of you gain happiness and Śānti, joy and good fortune! If you stay united, you can gain any prosperity, however great. If just a few ministers together are to uplift the country ... that is not possible. All of you must unite and give those ministers fitting help. You can snap a single strand of thread between two fingers, but when many threads are joined and made into cloth, it is very strong. In the same way, when the people and the government become one, it becomes possible to do any task, however great. So achieve unity. Hoping that all of you will wish for the welfare of society, work for its progress and gain lasting Ānanda, and blessing you, I bring my talk to a close.
