In plain words

Why great riches that set the heart trembling? Better the labourer who holds his desires in check. There is no unmixed joy, there is no unmixed sorrow on this earth bound by the pairs of opposites!

The town along whose bounds, parting into streams, there flows the river Citrāvatī in its wondrous courses; the town around which, to its good fortune, there flourish fine mango trees on every side; the town at whose four borders Pārvatī and Īśvara keep watch, never leaving it; the town in whose splendid centre holds His court Mādhava, full of glory: its great glory, which the whole region extols, with the tank that Cikkavaḍiyaru built, so that the world esteems Bukkarāya's lasting fame, this town, the town of Caitanya, fittingly proclaims!

Embodiments of Prema! The name Caitanya Jyoti is nothing new. What fills everything everywhere is Caitanya alone. What moves through the three worlds, the three times and the three guṇas is Caitanya itself. Before the living beings of the world were born, before creation itself took place at all, what existed was Caitanya alone. This world is the Caitanya of the five elements. Caitanya is the very form of the five elements.
